On the day of your clean, we start by sweeping the area to remove loose dirt, debris, and organic matter. We then use a turbo lance to jet wash the perimeter and hard-to-reach areas before tackling the main surfaces. For large areas, we often use a rotary flat surface cleaner, which delivers a powerful, even clean without streaks—quickly and efficiently.
A standard power wash uses nothing but normal tap water applied at high pressure, making it environmentally friendly and safe. For more stubborn organic stains, moss, or lichen (including blackspot), we offer specialist treatments. Blackspot can’t be removed with pressure washing alone, especially from surfaces like Indian sandstone, York stone, or block paving. In these cases, we apply a high-strength sodium hypochlorite solution, which breaks down the marks effectively. We are fully trained and licensed in chemical application, and all treatments are applied using full PPE. The solution biodegrades quickly and is completely safe for pets and children once rinsed and dry.
Weeds and moss are removed during the cleaning process, but for deep-rooted weeds, we recommend applying a weed killer such as glyphosate (Roundup) a week or two before the clean. This can be done by you or by us during the quotation stage. If your driveway or patio is made from block paving, we’ll return on a dry day after the wash to re-sand the joints—an essential step to secure the blocks and prevent movement. We can also provide professional repointing for patios where needed, ensuring the structure stays strong and looking its best.
